I experienced an incredible opening on a physical level and also on an emotional and energetic level. Patricia’s gentle, holistic touch is powerfully direct and effective.

Vital Movement Integration (VMI) Bodywork is an integrative therapeutic method, combining manual therapy techniques & movement re-education. In 1992, Patricia Bardi, a licensed natural health practitioner (BATC) and registered somatic movement therapist/educator (ISMETA) established this therapeutic approach & professional training program centered in Amsterdam & accredited by the KTNO and ISMETA.

As a licensed natural health practice VMI Bodywork incorporates a profound knowledge & understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology with psychophysical condtions.

VMI Bodywork aims to reorganize the imbalances within the body by evaluating the functional relationship between the skeletal structure, neuromuscular system, organs & hormones. The therapeutic intervention is specific & precise using gentle manual techniques for treating discomforts, stress & pain related injuries and imbalances in the body-mind-emotion connectivity.

The goal of the VMI Bodywork treatment is to regain ease of mobility, and foster a new sense of vitality through the entire body. The normalization of restrictions in mobility in the body’s structure and harmonization with the nervous system & organs’ biological rhythms encourage the body to express its own capacities for self-healing and restore homeostatic inner balance.

Conditions that respond well to VMI Bodywork include:

  • Stress, chronic fatigue & burn out
  • Digestive conditions
  • Muscular tension & injuries
  • Spine & joint mobility
  • Lower back pain
  • Asthma & respiratory conditions
  • Headache & migraine
  • Menstruation discomfort
  • Pre and post natal conditions
  • Surgical scars
  • During or after chemotherapy treatment

Benefits of VMI Bodywork:

  • Increased sense of health and wellbeing
  • Reduced stress & anxiety
  • Improved efficiency in performing every day tasks
  • Strengthened realignment of postural balance
  • Enhanced alertness & concentration in the work environment
  • Restored energy and vitality with an overall sense of calmness

This bodywork gives me a lot of inner rest and confidence.

Vital Movement Integration (VMI) Bodywork

A gentle, precise, hands-on bodywork practice that employs sensitive touch, guided movement, breath and sound. VMI Bodywork addresses imbalances in the nervous system as it interacts with the neuromuscular, skeletal, organ and endocrine systems. This approach connects body, mind and emotions, and brings a renewed sense of equilibrium and well-being through the entire body.

Organ Rebalancing

A light, rhythmical, sensitive hands-on technique that integrates the awareness of the organs into a whole-body movement experience. The hands-on practice guides the internal organs in regaining normal mobility and tone, as it supports the vital balance of the skeletal structure and nervous system. It facilitates deeper, more balanced breathing and improves postural integration.

Developmental Movement Education for Infants & Children

Uses light touch, movement and guided play to stimulate a child’s sensory-motor coordination. It helps the child develop their range of motion, balance and motor skills, and guides them naturally toward their fullest potential. Beneficial for babies and children experiencing developmental delay, sleep disturbance, digestive discomfort, and movement or neurological challenges.

Diagnosis & Treatment

What can I expect on my first visit?

During your first appointment, we will take your health history, listen to the most important aspects of your health that create discomfort in your daily life and will guide you through a physical experience including touch, breath and movement re-education.

How long will my first visit be? How about future visits?

A first visit with a client lasts 90 minutes for a complete evaluation, agreement for a treatment plan, and starting treatment on the same day. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes in duration.

We need sufficient time to ask questions and to understand your health status and goals. Time is also needed for guiding you to listen to your discomfort, to manage your condition and to improve your health.

We focus on a holistic and proactive prevention and a comprehensive safe treatment. We help facilitate the body’s inherent ability to restore and maintain optimal health by using touch, breath, movement and sound.

It is important to know that during your session you will encouraged to be actively attentive with your body awareness and movement.

It is our role to identify and remove barriers to good health by helping to create with you a well connected internal and external healing environment.

What should I wear to my first visit?

It is best to bring light comfortable natural fiber clothing for your visits to allow light touch and ease of motion.
